10th, 11th & 12th Grade - The Electronics Technology Program prepares students to design, develop, fabricate, install and service electronic equipment for the Electronics Industry. The classroom and related laboratory form a learning evironment that, upon graduation, is designed to allow students to be a productive employee or business owner in the expansive world of electronics. It also creates a foundation that allows students to move on to a post secondary educational program that will provide even better employment opportunities.

Employment opportunities for electronics abound in the world around us. Advancements in new technology provide ample prospects for employment. A trained electronics engineer or technician will normally specialize in a particular area of the industry where they have an interest. Some of these areas include, but are not limited to, the fields of radio and television broadcasting, aviation, telephone and telecommunications, medical, industrial process and control, nuclear engineering, computer, radar and many more.
A student applying to the Career Center to begin training for a career in the electronics industry should have an aptitude in mathematics, science and mechanics. A background with Algebra 1 is a benefit. Electronics often involves performing finely detailed work with a high degree of accuracy, along with the ability to accurately use and write technical language. The abilities of logical and abstract reasoning and problem solving are essential in this field.

Erie Institute of Technology offers graduates a better of tests, if passed, result in a reduction of tuituion in the ares that the school deems the enrolling student competent. |

The three year program begins with the following duty/task areas:
Basic Electricity - Basic electrical concepts, quantities, series/parallel/complex circuits, laws, measurements, components, direct/alternating current/voltage, capacitance, inductance, and transformer.
Analog - Semiconductors, diodes, power supplies, transistors, amplifiers, operational amplifiers, oscillators, ruglated power supplies, and communications.
Digital - Numbers, logic gates, interfacing, encoding, decoding, flip flops, counters, shift registers, arithmetic circuits, memories and interfacing.
