PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM
POLICY: The CCCTC-Practical Nursing Program adheres to the guidelines established in the Title IV Higher Education Act of 1965, Amendments of 1998, 2000 when calculating tuition refunds for withdrawn students. Non Title IV monies will be refunded based on the school policy. The school will retain only a $100 administrative fee and $15 liability fee of all students who submits a written notification of withdrawal on or before the first class day. Title IV Refund Policy: (click here for detailed policy) 1. If a student has received Title IV federal funds (Pell Grants and Stafford Loans) and leaves the program prior to completing 60% of the scheduled clock hours in the payment period, the percent of Title IV funds not earned must be returned to the federal program per federal regulation. (see attached forms) 2. If the student has completed more than 60% of the clock hours in the payment period, then no Title IV funds are returned. 3. The student is responsible to pay back all non-refunded loan monies as outlined on the master promissory note signed prior to receiving the loans. Refund of non-Title IV funds will be based on the payment period using the following schedule: a) School retains 25% if student withdraws within 1 to 4 weeks. b) School retains 50% if student withdraws within 5 to 8 weeks. c) School retains 75% if student withdraws within 9 to 12 weeks. 2. The school has the right to bill a student for any remaining unpaid balance due for each period after the calculation of the refund. 3. Specific guidelines for scholarship monies will be followed and may require that the student return 100% of the funding. * The financial aid officer will calculate refund examples for you upon request. Students/parents have the right to appeal the refund process if individual circumstances warrant exceptions to the approved policy. General Financial Aid Information: 1. All financial aid money, as well as monies paid by the student, will be credited to the student’s account. No financial aid of any kind will be disbursed to an enrolled student until all school charges are paid in full. Monies attributable to future payment periods cannot be utilized to pay charges remaining for the period enrolled. 2. Students withdrawing from the program are required to submit a letter of resignation to the coordinator, stating the reason for his/her withdrawal and the effective date of resignation. Any student, who fails to return from an approved leave of absence, is also considered to have withdrawn. Thus, monies attributed to the student account will be refunded to the appropriate lenders and/or student, according to the applicable policy. 3. Students, who withdraw from the program or who are terminated from the program and wish to return at a later date, must submit his/her request in writing to the coordinator. Anyone who is transferred and/or readmitted into the program must meet with the coordinator and instructor during the first week of class to discuss any special concerns of either party regarding their participation in the program. 4. Readmission into the program will be based on: a) faculty evaluation of the student’s potential for successes; 5. The student will return at the beginning of the trimester following the last trimester he/she completed satisfactorily (81% or higher) upon approval of faculty. Students who were dismissed from the program due to failure of theory and/or clinical will be on probation for the first eight weeks, and must achieve 81.0% by that evaluation date. 6. A post-withdrawal disbursement is a disbursement made to a student who has withdrawn, but who has earned more aid than has been disbursed.. No return of funds is made if a student/parent is eligible to receive a post-withdrawal disbursement. After all charges are paid, a disbursement will be offered to the student/parent within 30 days of withdrawal. A written notice will be sent to the borrower regarding the type and amount credited to their account, their right to cancel the excess funds, or to disburse the credit balance in the time frame outlined in the regulations. |
